Special Bimetallic Lugs

Special Bimetallic Lugs are designed and tested as per BS 4759 standard. These Special Bimetallic Lugs and connectors are manufactured from Solid Electrolytic Grade material by friction welding. Friction Welding is superior technology to give a complete bonding between aluminium and copper. Entry to the wire barrel is shock-proof or bell mouthed for faster and easier conductor entry. The Connector and Lug Barrels are filled with grease to avoid oxidation of Aluminum.

Features for Special Bimetallic Lugs
  • Longitudinally Sealed Bimetallic Lugs are also available upon request.
  • Constructed with forged circular copper palm and friction welded to an EC grade aluminium, thus achieving the best possible transition Bi-Metals require.
  • Feature a very strong fusion welded Al/Cu joint.
  • Special Bimetallic lugs are provided with jointing compound in the barrels and are sealed with an end cap.
  • Generally used when a bolted connection is required between a copper cable and an aluminium busbar or terminal.
  • Known for their excellent conduction towards heat and electricity.
